Not just another survey
Most employee surveys lack depth and don’t drive meaningful change. People withhold how they really feel if psychological safety is low. And there is no industry-wide standard, making it hard for organizations to see how they compare.
Lux Psychological Safety Index is different. Our anonymous survey uncovers what’s really happening across five critical areas:
1. Individual performance capacity
Can people stay regulated, take ownership, and work well under pressure?
2. Communication effectiveness
How effectively are people exchanging information, navigating difficult conversations, and nurturing relationships?
3. Team operating maturity
Do teams have clarity on goals, and alignment on how to achieve them? Does everyone feel involved? Is there a system for making decisions?
4. Learning and adaptability
Are people in the habit of reflecting on their work, improving how it’s done, and responding proactively to change?
5. Innovation execution readiness
How effectively are ideas shared, developed, and translated into solutions that move the business forward?
We measure 27 key psychological safety indicators and run in-depth analysis to reveal the organizational capabilities influencing performance – benchmarked against industry peers.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a subscription-based product?
No. Lux is a tailored assessment and advisory program, with a single project fee and the option to repeat at key intervals.
How long does the full Lux process take?
We customize the implementation based on your needs and operational setup, but typically the full process takes around 3 months.
Can we run Lux across multiple locations?
Yes. Lux is designed to run across multiple sites, and in multiple languages if needed.
Can we re-run Lux at regular intervals?
Yes. We recommend running Lux annually to track progress over time. You’ll have access to a dashboard where you can see what’s changed.
How does Lux fit with our existing engagement survey or pulse tools?
Lux is designed to complement, not replace, your existing tools. Where engagement surveys tell you how people feel in broad terms, Lux goes deeper into psychological safety and the capabilities that support quality, learning and innovation.
How do you protect employees’ anonymity?
We don’t collect names, emails, or other identifying information. And we only survey teams of 10 people or more to ensure respondents can’t be personally identified.
Can we segment findings by team or business function?
Yes. Lux gives you rich team-level insights. Some organizations begin by rolling out Lux with one business function before widening the lens.
Is the data statistically robust?
Yes. We’ve worked with organizational behavior professors, researchers and specialist statisticians to ensure the Lux questions are structured and analyzed to the highest methodological standards, giving you insight you can trust and act on.
What does certification as a Psychologically Safe Workplace involve?
When benchmarking your business with Lux, we compare your scores against The Culture Code – our definitive global psychological safety standards. If you reach the gold standard, scoring 75%+ in all areas, you’ll be added to our database of Psychologically Safe Workplaces, and we’ll provide assets you can use in employer branding and internal comms.
